"I had been diagnosed with multiple liver cysts in May of 2004. Six months later, a second scan showed that another cyst had developed and that the first ones had grown. I wasn't sleeping well just didn't feel good. I took milk thistle after reading about how it could help with the cysts. It did stop their growth, as noted form a third scan taken, but I was still feeling extremely fatigued. I had my first episode of shingles in April 2005, and felt completely run-down. I was emotionally overloaded from some personal crises as well. I had been under the care of a family practitioner who just kept writing out prescriptions. After he handed me 4 different prescriptions at my last visit with him in May of 2005, I felt like Popeye in his frustration -you know- the old cliché, "That's all I can stands, and I can't stands no more" and called Dr. Mike....before I left the doctor's parking lot! I first came to see Dr. Mike the next day at the urging of my son, a Chiropractic student, who believed that the doctor's combined methods of AK/ NET coupled with nutritional counseling could help me get well. He was adamant that I at least just go in for an initial consultation and consider his course of treatment. Dr. Mike took time to evaluate me and address each of my complaints and concerns. He reviewed the results of my liver scans, lab tests, and the colonoscopy report (which I was told previously by a Gastroentologist that it was "normal") and to my surprise, Dr. Mike could plainly see (and showed me) from the film that I had Candida. He used AK /NET to determine that my Adrenals were run down. He explained how all of my combined symptoms were only secondary to a bigger problem. He prescribed not prescription drugs, but nutritional supplements to target the candida, my adrenals, and my liver. He carefully helped me understand the importance of proper food combining, the importance of drinking distilled water, and how critical it was to avoid eating certain foods that were the wrong food choices for me in my present state of health. After being treated for the past 3 months and following his recommendations, I have felt better than I have in the last year and a half. I sleep well and awake feeling refreshed. I am happy to say that I lost 18 pounds in the course of this better way of eating! I do not consider AK/NET treatment a diet, but rather the key to a whole new way of understanding and listening to my own body's signals, physically and emotionally, and how what I eat contributes or diminishes my overall well being. I can honestly say that my taste buds have come alive and the right foods for me taste so good! I am gradually introducing the foods that were taboo for me and just listening to my body's response. I am so grateful to my son for caring enough to encourage me to make that first call just 3 months ago! I believe that God gave me the will power to take the time and energy needed to make the vital changes for my health's sake and that HE has given me the peace of mind that I am on the right track!
