If you have aches or pains or you've been suffering from any variation of arthritis, tendonitis, carpal tunnel, nerve root irritations, back/neck pain, tennis elbow, headaches, sprains or strains, knee, hip or ankle pain, tennis or golfer’s elbow, rotator cuff injury, even post-operative wounds/pain, then you're going to love this

I am writing this letter to relate an event which occurred in my life, and for which I was successfully treated, in your office.

I am a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist employed by St John Hospital. I work in an Outpatient Surgery Center in St Clair Shores, Michigan.

In early May of 2005, I had noted a slight pop in the lateral aspect of my Right knee upon stepping up into a van.

A few days later, I was at a dance class, and my right knee suddenly pained me to the point that I just went and sat down and did not participate further. I noted that it was slightly swollen.

I went to a Massage therapy friend of mine on Saturday who determined that I most likely had an injury of my right knee and who tried to ease the spasm I was in.

The following Monday I went to work and while putting on my scrubs, my right knee went into such an intense spasm that I could barely stand it-I managed to hobble into the OR and spent about three hours in misery barely able to care for anyone, including myself!

I was discharged home with great difficulty ambulating, and had an emergency appointment that afternoon to see an Orthopedic Surgeon that I knew and worked with.

I was attended by family members because I could not drive.

Xrays were taken, and the Physician thought that I might have a tear in the Medial Meniscus and scheduled me for an MRI and 5 days minimal off duty.

On our way home from his office,  I decided that I wanted to see Dr. Osiwala, my Chiropractic Physician, as he had been treating me for some chronic back and neck issues, and I had confidence in his abilities.

Upon examination, Dr. Osiwala determined that a lot of my immediate problem stemmed from the lumbosacral nerve roots in my back. He suggested that I consent to a laser treatment that could stimulate and retrain the muscle groups that were so weak ( I could not weight bear, and the thought of trying to step up, stairs etc, was impossible, not to mention stepping off of a curb!

I was a bit apprehensive at first, given the fact that I might have a tear-I did not want it to get worse, but my fears were overcome, when I saw the quads for example strengthen by about 70% with the first treatment!! Little by little, Dr. Osiwala increased my confidence by the manner in which he conducted my treatment plan.

I saw him almost everyday that he was available. I noted function returning quickly-I was blown away, and I had not even had the MRI yet!!!

After the MRI, the diagnosis came back  that I had a Medial Collateral Sprain, and a possible slight tear in the Lateral Meniscus. I continued with Dr. Osiwala and the Laser Treatments plus was given some strength training exercises.

I was also using in the beginning a Far Infra Red Device at home,  that helped the pain and inflammation. I took nothing for pain during this entire time-(Amazing in itself!)

I was never sent to Physical Therapy-My Surgeon felt that given time, this situation would eventually heal up.

Dr. Osiwala mentioned that I should ultimately get Rehab Rx just to really solidify good future function.

My overall feeling re: this event was that my therapy with Dr. Osiwala working so hard with me to get me back to functionality was the major determinant in my recovery.

As an Anesthetist, I see these types of injury and far worse issues, and the people who need surgery (Thank God that I did not!) and their recovery time is usually several weeks.

I cannot say enough about Dr. Osiwala and the therapy modalities that he used in my case. Not only that, his caring spirit contributed just as much as far as I am concerned.

I am indebted to this man and his wonderful staff for my care and I will never forget how much he helped me-Words cannot express it enough. I recovered full function in about two to three weeks. It was truly amazing-Every test he put me through during therapy showed progress from day one!!!

I was back to work in no time and have not had any further problems. I still see Dr. Osiwala on a regular basis and have referred several people to him.

As a licensed professional trained in the Allopathic modality, I would like to say a few words re: Chiropractic therapy in general:

It is not today what most people may think, and of course any therapy can rise or fall in the hands of the specific practicioner.

At Health For Life, Dr. Osiwala has incorporated advanced techniques, nutritionals, and a mind set, that many other doctors of Chiropractic may not be aware of, and surely most medical practicioners as well.

We all need to clearly understand that Chiropractic is an incredible Healing Therapy that should be consistently utilized to maintain our Health. When one removes the roadblocks, healing can begin.

This is the way that we have been created.

 Again Dr. Jim Osiwala

You are one of a kind,  An arm that God is using!

I am so glad that I was able to be cared for by you-It made a huge difference in my life.

Thank you again a thousand times over!!!

Three years ago I had an operation on my left knee for a torn meniscus.  The operation was a success but I still had pain in my left knee and leg.  I went to several chiropractors and medical doctors.  They all said there was nothing to be done, and to take arthritis medicine.

I am an avid golfer and would not quit, so I had to resort to taking a cart and limping in between.  The girls called me gimpy.  I also bowled and had to quit even before the operation.

Problem # 2 – My neck was stiff and painful for years and got worse as time went on.  I could hardly turn my head from side to side.  When I woke up in the morning I had to turn my head holding it with both hands.  The same scenario with my neck – Arthritis – take a pill.

I went to see you on a recommendation from a friend. (With much trepidation) after a very nice, friendly, caring consultation, we started treatments.  You said it was not my leg or knee, but my lower back.  It was not arthritis but a neck injury from years ago.

I felt relief from pain after the first Laser treatment.  Not 100% but some.  Even before the treatments ended I was golfing and walking up a storm. Now I am Pain Free and looking forward to bowling in the fall.

I’m turning my head so good. I’m going to have a bobble head made of me.  Thank You, Thank You for your caring, your concern and your talent.  You were born to be a doctor.

Sincerely

Ginny Steiner

“Was told I had fibromyalgia swollen painful lumps in my thighs, I had painful shoulders and sometimes arms and elbows. I’d had every test…referred from doctor to doctor and even to U of M. My friend sent me Dr. Osiwala’s article in the paper and I followed through and felt he was my last resort.

Now I don’t cry every night because of the excruciating pain. Lumps almost gone in thighs. Can move, walk, stretch much, much easier…I haven’t felt this great in over three years…”                                              --D. Fekin

“I have Fibromyalgia and have tried Physical Therapy. Approximately 3 weeks ago I had some major stiffness in my neck and upper traps. Within 4-5 visits to Dr. Jim he got me back to 100%…thank you Dr. Jim, you are a miracle worker!!”                    --Christa

“…I would take every anti-inflammatory I could find for my TMJ and fibromyalgia. After one visit, my jaw no longer was stiff or clicked, neck pain gone, muscle spasms gone, burning in muscles gone. I can sit up straight and move without pain to my back…”

“…Before visiting Health for Life I had numbness down my left leg. I could hardly get out of bed in the morning…I was always in constant pain….moody and irritable with my family…..within the first three weeks of seeing Dr. Osiwala the numbness started going away. After a month and a half I was feeling great but I knew I still needed to continue treatments. My whole attitude has changed!! I feel great! I am not frustrated because of pain that was out of control….”                              --C. Rice
