Acupuncture is simply a technique of stimulating the acupoints found on your body by puncturing them with needles. In the office, Dr Rodrigues practices Meridian Therapy using computerized Electro-Meridian Imaging (EMI), also known as the system of Ryodoraku, and non-invasive electronic stimulation of acupoints in the treatment of acute and chronic pain in the spine and extremities and dysfunction in the body. In addition to EMI, gua sha is practiced as needed.
Dr. Rodrigues earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in 1993. He graduated with honors, with a major in microbiology and a minor in chemistry. Dr. Rodrigues earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree in 1997, with honors, from Cleveland Chiropractic College in Kansas City, Missouri. Upon graduation from Cleveland Chiropractic College, Dr. Rodrigues was awarded The Clinic Excellence Award, "...by virtue of his outstanding commitment and dedication to patient care and professional excellence...". Dr. Rodrigues is a member of The Golden Key National Honor Society, Outstanding College Students of America, Who?s Who In American Colleges and Universities, has participated in The National Student Exchange Program, and has taken numerous extra-curricular courses concerning musculo-skeletal health and function. In addition, Dr. Rodrigues is a Fellow of The International Academy of Medical Acupuncture (FIAMA). Currently, Dr. Rodrigues is practicing in Massachusetts.
