Dr. Dori Fortunato developed an interest in complementary health approaches during her adolescent years after watching family members suffer through chronic illnesses. With an unwavering dedication to understanding the body's ability to heal, she earned her doctorate degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from the Pacific College of Health and Sciences, San Diego.

Growing up with a father who had multiple health concerns, including Multiple Sclerosis and older sister with Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis, her interest in auto-immune diseases and recalcitrant illness is directly related to her personal experience.  She identifies with the sacrifices, suffering and pain that illness can cause both individually and as a caregiver.

Her perspective on patient care has been influenced by the many mentors she has had the honor to work with and through her personal commitment to her own health and healing.   She is especially interested in an integrative approach to wellbeing, women's health issues, spirituality, and preventing chronic diseases.

Over the last twenty-five years, Dr. Fortunato has had the opportunity to study and practice many other healing methods that support her approach and treatment strategies.  She holds a License in Massage Therapy, is Certified in Chinese Herbology, Studied Western herbs from many lineages and traditions, is a Certified Hypnotist, Functional Diagnostic Nutrition practitioner and has taken many other seminars and certification courses to increase her knowledge base and understanding of the body.  She is committed to offering the highest quality of care, educating others and grateful to share her knowledge in the community and with her patients.

Within her practice, Dr. Fortunato works individually with each patient to help them discover their personal healing story.  Whether treating women's health, pain management, digestive disorders, fertility, men's health, Lyme disease, emotional health, cancer support or wellbeing, Dr. Fortunato's healing nature facilitates and offers each patient the opportunity to experience an ongoing relationship with health and healing, offering lasting improvements.
