About the Seminar

We will dive into understanding the physiology, anatomy, and neurometabolic outcomes that occur with these conditions, which will be paired together with clinical examination exercises and demonstrations to give the attendees a better understanding of how to diagnose and treat these debilitating conditions. As a brain injury specialist, Dr. Erik Reis, DC, DACNB, CBIS knows the long-term impact of TBI, concussions & whiplash, especially how their influences extend systemically long past traumatic event. Dr. Erik Reis is a Doctor of Chiropractic Medicine and Board-Certified Chiropractic Neurologist at The Neural Connection. He received his Doctorate in Chiropractic from Northwestern Health Sciences University, graduating with magna cum laude honors, and graduated from the University of Minnesota with his Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology/Exercise Science, with an emphasis in human motor performance in both athletic and therapeutic settings.

Dr. Reis currently holds a diplomate in functional neurology from the American Chiropractic Neurology Board and has completed thousands of hours of additional post-graduate coursework utilizing clinical applications and therapeutic interventions in the neurological and nutritional rehabilitation of traumatic brain injuries, concussions, and vestibular disorders through the Carrick Institute of Clinical Neuroscience.

At The Neural Connection, his practice primarily focuses on treating complex neurological disorders that range from traumatic brain injuries (TBI’s), dysautonomia, sport-related concussions, vestibular-related disorders (Vertigo/Dizziness), complex regional pain syndromes (CRPS), headaches/migraines, and chronic pain syndromes. His treatments focus on individualized neurological rehabilitation protocols focused on increasing function through sensorimotor training and neuro-orthopedic exercises.

He manages pain and dysfunctional movement by utilizing corrective exercises, gait-retaining protocols and individualized neuromuscular training programs fit for the specific needs of his patients. He also utilizes comprehensive nutritional and metabolic testing to address potentially limiting dysfunctions of the immune, endocrine, and nervous systems.

Dr. Reis believes the connection between neurological function and nutritional status is essential to understanding how to fully maximize brain function, which is why he takes a multifaceted approach to improve his patient’s brain health and wellness.

He leverages the building of trusting relationships for the benefit of the patient and is willing to take the extra step(s) needed to ensure the highest quality of patient satisfaction for greater clinical outcomes. As such, he recognizes the importance of patient education, which is why he loves teaching his patients about their overall health and wellness to provide the necessary knowledge to be able to take control of their health when away from the office.

In his spare time, he enjoys playing lead/rhythm guitar in his band “The Night Caps”. He also enjoys participating in competitive recreational sports and spending time with his amazing family (and dog, Dolly).
